Memories

spain and gain.

alright, BARCELONA > SEVILLA

seville one night. all i have to say that it was 45 degrees. it was really hot. we went out. to the possible worst club in the whole of spain. a lot of jason mraz hats. a lot of flared jeans. a lot of grinding spaniards. honestly torture.the music was beyond bad. it was like all those terrible euro song that pitbull remixes with. i can’t even explain it but there was ALOT of trumpets and a lot of “ey oh ei oh ei ohweeoh”s  (thin white duke remix)

i sound like such a negative nancy, but i honestly only remember this being place being crazy hot, full of real pretty buildings and gypsies handing out leaves. aaron obvioulsy loved it – liek that time he felt at home when we went to baroq and lakshan felt really uncomfortable. yeah it was like that.

alot of cute couple shots. you cant see in these photos but aaron myself and mil were holding hands while taking these cute photos.

SEVILLE TO LAGOS

what an experience. i think from this experience we all realised that we are A) too old for hostels and B) we are too old for hostels.

after a massive bus ride with a whole lot of can’t even omg stop it gals from straaaaya talking about rofl things. eg. “omg he’s just TOO nice for me yo know? like i kind of want like omg i dunno you know like he’s like i can’t even” we realised that sentences weren’t even being said. we get to lagos. “omg are you at the rising cock omg same!” we get to the rising cock. we check in. we think we have a 6 bed room to ourselves. we don’t. ill set the scene.

we walk the hills of lagos because Andre wanted to take us on a hill climb just for gags – its a Saturday, and we arrive at the rising cock hostel around midnight. we get taken to our room and there is the hardest of hard house playing. remixes of remixed terrible cloud 9 wah wah lounge on repeat. we meet our two room mates. elias and rocky. to be honest i don’t actually think that was their names but thats what we called them. they were harmless, but it was incredibly brutal.

we obviously did drink them under the table on multiple occasions – their lasting impression of us was tom trying to give them cash for their scotch we took.

We also did this cute boat ride, seeing rocks shaped as animals. it sounds real lame but was real nice.

no specifics of lagos. we got into it – partied a bit, danced to Chris Brown, hit the town, watched the sunrise, slept on the beach, got tans, we took it pretty sleazy.tom and andre got up to like 206 in the bat and ball thing on the beach that was pretty epic there was people like gathering to watch them. (not really but it was pretty awesome)

LISBON; WHAT HAPPENED IN LISBON? i don’t even know.

SINTRA. castle. yeah this was pretty amazing. photos definitely don’t do this justice, but here are the photos – was a massive trek up to it – apple health app blew up – hit about the 20k walking and about 120 flights of stairs.

LISBON TO SAN SEBASTIAN

San seb, lots of shopping beach sun. i feel like I’m saying that a lot but honestly thats a lot of what we actually did.

The cider tour was a pretty good highlight of San seb (according to matt misuraca the cider day was best thing he’s ever done in europe ever in his whole entire life)

. apart from beach, dranks and friendship – this was a real good day.

After a tour about the process of cider making and how they do it, (cider in spain is so different and way better than aussie cider btw) we get stuck into lunch and the whole unlimited cider thing. you pretty much pour them straight from the barrels into glasses. or in true thumbs up form – straight into mouths.

introducing: FROFFMOUFS. (see next blog. this needs to be a dedicated post obviously)

i can’t say much more about this the next post.

SEGUE

…the suspense is REAL.

Sarah

Hi! I’m Sarah. If you know me already, this page will be useless to you. As I mentioned in my first post I am Canadian, I love diving, Doctor Who, patio beers and now my Icelandic sweater shown in the photo above (it is unbelievably cozy). I graduated from Dalhousie in 2014 with a BA in International Development and Environmental sustainability and after working for 15 months at a wholesale company selling environmentally friendly alternatives to food service items I decided to go on an adventure. Traveling has always been on the back of my mind, and I knew if I didn’t go soon, it might not happen
