Singapore Night 2

Well wasn’t THIS interesting.

After a big day of universal studios – we head back to the hotel for a bit of a afternoon siesta before dinner plans. Everyone who has spoken to MJ in the last 2 days will know exactly what happened between the hours of 6 and 8, so I don’t think we need to broadcast and bring that up to general knowledge – but lets just say it was awkies and rofls and all of the above.

DINNER.

Jap jap.

Now were thinking tempura prawns, teriyaki, sashimi, saki… ie: jap jap deliciousness. We obviously gave the chef free reign with the menu – took all their recommendations and started off with frozen saki. This was actually pretty cool – it liquefied into this weird delicious slushi which was epic and then you added some weird citris shit to it and made it taste better but then the saki ate up all the citris and then turned into complete poison and was the hardest thing ever to drink. Don’t worry I made a slippery deal with mil if I drank all the saki I got to overrule any plane seating so I got preference. Ill tell you about this later but honestly, the metho saki was worth it.

After metho saki we get through these meals. Mil will obviously legit write about these meals but I’m going to write this as the common folk. The regular dev – eating Japanese. I’ve been to japan, I’ve eaten a bit of raw chicken, few shark fins, a lot of miscellaneous meats – all about the experience obviously…but honestly this was nek lev weird shit.

The meal consisted of 5 meals – a raw prawn was involved, weird jelly with I swear it was salmon shit, a lot of “broth” but I think they meant “dirty dishwater”.

I KNOW this is fine dining…. But this was ridiculous. The prawn was CREAMY if anyone was curious the taste and texture of a raw prawn. It was honestly brutal. A few nice things in the mix. Like trout. It did bring back mems of trout fishing #sundayactivitydays. but majority was pretty weird. They also had beetleleaf. Navin I know you’ll read this – and I know The National changed their menu after my recommendation of “loose the betal leaf – its weird.” But when the betal leaf is wrapped around sardine tofu topped with weird bursting balls of who knows what, you kind of just have to eat it and shutup.

After I get down the metho sake – I suggest to mil, how about some wine instead? She misunderstands the guy and he brings out MORE sake. But THIS time this bottle took 4 minutes to open and had “sediments” in it for some sort of weird fermentation. To be totally honest mil knows that this was totally her fault. The sake wasn’t that bad but it had floaties. Of god knows what.

Anyway dinner was weird. The drink before dinner was weird. It was a weird night. We sleep, obviously a little sake sauced – we both woke up having super weird dreams so I’m sure something was in the sake. #living.

TRAVEL DAY: Singapore > Sri Lankz. – Sri Lankz > Lundun

Singaz > Sri Lankz

Brutal. Horrible. Disgusting. Everything. Horrible. I can’t even write about it because I will come across so horrible no one will want to be my friend anymore. But lets just say the metho saki bet was not in Emelias favour. Also Lakshan, if you ever do read this – you have a lot to answer for in recommending this airline.

In other words. You’re dead.

Sri Lankz > Lundun

Mil gets us some ice coffees and gets some duty free vodka to “knock us out” so we make our own espresso martinis in the coffee bean and tea leaf at the sri lanken airport. One of the lower points of the trip so far but we needed it. I’m currently sitting on the plane, doing website photos for MJ, drinking vinos watching Tin Tin.

We’ve heard a few eyagoin accents already. Mils looking spot on with her pimple beard and my hair has somehow gone beyond disgusting, but we hear accents so mils being all flirty and weird. It’s strange. I’m 80% sure she’s drunk.

Anyway. Will check in once we get to London.

Over and out.

Us.

Sarah

Hi! I’m Sarah. If you know me already, this page will be useless to you. As I mentioned in my first post I am Canadian, I love diving, Doctor Who, patio beers and now my Icelandic sweater shown in the photo above (it is unbelievably cozy). I graduated from Dalhousie in 2014 with a BA in International Development and Environmental sustainability and after working for 15 months at a wholesale company selling environmentally friendly alternatives to food service items I decided to go on an adventure. Traveling has always been on the back of my mind, and I knew if I didn’t go soon, it might not happen
